How To Be Successful In Life – Effective Planning
How To Add A Little Enjoyment Into Your Life
What are you living for, if not to enjoy it? It’s a simple question, but one you maybe haven’t taken time off from your busy schedule to ask yourself. Do it now. What is it that makes you happy and how can you build them back into your life? Why did they disappear from your life in the first place?
Modern life can be hectic. It seems like there are no shortage of people to place demands on you – families, friends, bosses, bank managers…the list goes on. But satisfying them won’t satisfy *you*. You need your life to be intrinsically enjoyable in order to make it worth living. Without enjoyment you’re not living – you’re merely existing.
Thankfully, adding a little enjoyment into your life doesn’t have to be difficult. In fact, with proper time management, it’s quite easy. Build time into your schedule to relax and do something leisure-oriented.
Book a game of squash or do for a drink with friends. That time spent in leisure will reward you doubly, because it will be enjoyable in its own right, but also, it will re-charge your batteries so you can carry on with the rest of your life and achieving whatever it is you want to achieve with renewed energy and enthusiasm. Enjoyment in life is all part of being a rounded, balanced person who is happy with their life.
Enjoyment doesn’t always have to be scheduled, either. You can take enjoyment from even simple everyday things, like something your child says; a kiss from your partner; that suit you bought last year finally fitting you after a month of dieting. It doesn’t matter where the enjoyment comes from, so long as you take time to really feel the enjoyment. Focus on how good it feels and just revel in those happy hormones flooding your brain and sending the feeling right through your body.
Cast off your worries and your doubts by making plans to overcome them. That way, you stop them spoiling your enjoyment. They aren’t problems any longer, just simply things you need to deal with in the future. You will know how you can deal with them in the future so you don’t have to think about them now. You can get on with living in the present and enjoying every minute of it.
You will have taken control of your life and know where you’re headed and how you are going to get there. Effective planning leaves you free time to enjoy yourself and look back with happiness at what you have achieved. It puts things in perspective so problems don’t overwhelm you and spoil your happiness.
Planning will have got you to assess your priorities so you will not lose sight of the things that make you most happy. That means you can add not just a little happiness into your life but a whole lot of happiness – and because you will appreciate the people and even the small things around you – you will easily find that happiness.
