How To Be Successful in Life – Every Problem Has A Solution
THERE ARE NO OBSTACLES TO HOW CREATIVE YOU CAN BE
Being creative is a wondrous act, yet that wonder can quickly turn sour if you find yourself unable to create. There are many things that can account for your being blocked. The first step is to recognize exactly what the problem is. Some of the more common creative blocks are outlined below.
PROBLEM 1: “I don’t want to try something new because I know it’s going to turn out to be a disaster.”
SOLUTION: How will you know that it’s not going to work unless you actually make an attempt? You can’t be certain that something good won’t come out of trying something different. Have faith in yourself. At the very least, you would have tried.
PROBLEM 2: “I think I’ve lost that creative spark for good”.
SOLUTION: How long has it been since you’ve created something? Has it been months or years? By now you’re starting to think that it’s gone and it’s never coming back. That’s not true. You just need to start small and reacquaint yourself with the creative process. It’s just like riding a bike; it’ll come back to you with practice.
PROBLEM 3: “I’ll never be as good as all the others”.
SOLUTION: Never think that you, or your ideas, are inferior to anyone else. That is a sure-fire way of killing your creative spirit. You are just as good as anyone else. Let your creations be an extension of yourself and that’s all you need to achieve perfection.
PROBLEM 4: “I have so many ideas that my head feels like it’s going to explode”.
SOLUTION: You have to start somewhere. Take a sheet of paper and write down all of those ideas that are swimming around in your head. Then prioritize them. Which one appeals to you the most? Put that one at the top of your list and go down. This will help you to easily navigate through the pile.
PROBLEM 5: “I always make a mess of things. Why bother?”
SOLUTION: Who says that a mess is a bad thing? Often, the real pleasure of creating is in making a mess. If you never make a mess of things then how will you learn to better next time? It may seem bad in the short term but you will gain knowledge that will ultimately lead to being more fulfilled in your work.
PROBLEM 6: “I’m never going to actually finish it anyway.”
SOLUTION: You’ve got tons of unfinished projects hidden in the garage. Why didn’t you finish them? Maybe what you’ve been doing just wasn’t right for you. It’s better to realize this halfway through and stop there than to waste your efforts on something that won’t give you a sense of accomplishment. Not finishing a project doesn’t mean that you lack discipline. It merely means that you haven’t found the right project yet.
Every problem has a solution. Don’t stop being creative just because it becomes a challenge. Figure out what’s causing your lack of creativity and fix it. You can do it. Have faith in yourself and there will no stopping you.
