Are You Keeping Yourself From Success?
Your subconscious mind contains all your past experiences and beliefs that you have acquired through your life through everything you have experienced. Negative thoughts sabotage your hopes and dreams. If your subconscious is programmed to see yourself as a failure or someone who doesn’t succeed, then every action you take will be guided by this firmly held belief. You won’t set out to positively grab success because you won’t think you deserve it or that it could ever happen to you. In short – you’re keeping yourself from success.
So how can just thoughts keep you from success? It sounds crazy, doesn’t it? But thoughts are powerful things. Thoughts guide us through every waking moment and they even affect us whilst we sleep. Your mind absorbs all your experiences and all you see and hear and feel, but it doesn’t necessarily analyze them – not unless you make it do that. If what you usually see and hear is negative, that’s what your mind will accept as the truth. You need to get yourself some new influences! – Ones that don’t constantly see the bad side of things and wait for things to go wrong.
That kind of negative thinking keeps you from success because you don’t then take responsibility for what is happening to you. You feel that you know things will go wrong sooner or later, no matter what you do – so why do anything? If you believe that you are going to fail, your unconscious mind will believe that, and as a way to protect you, it will stop you taking a risk and doing things you might fail at. That can really hold you back in life. You just won’t take the risk of that something you fear going wrong – so you won’t take the chances of making things go right for you.
Do you think that you can’t achieve those ambitions you want? If you do, then you will close your mind, see no opportunities, and behave and react negatively and defensively. That way you allow negative thinking to rule your life and you stop yourself achieving success, thus becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy of the doom you were sure awaited you anyway. That’s no way to live your life – is it?
Negative thinking shouldn’t just be rejected as wrong, though. You should consciously think about the problems you foresee and pitfalls you envisage and think of possible ways around them. That is the way to take control of your thinking. Then you’ll be truly prepared for the glittering future ahead of you. Problems won’t get you down for long because you know you can get around them and you have at last an idea about how to do that. That gives you true confidence to go out and achieve your goals.
So – embrace your negative thoughts, but don’t let them rule your life. Actively take opportunities arise for you and make plans to get around problems – then follow them. Don’t be discouraged when it isn’t as easy as you’d hoped – the struggles will make success seem all the sweeter. You are in charge of your life and your ambitions – so don’t keep yourself from the success that you know you deserve.
