How To Be Successful in Life – The Power Of Visualization
THE SECRET TO UNLOCKING YOUR CREATIVE TALENTS
Your mind is an amazing thing. There is so much you can achieve if you can harness its creative powers. Just look at the world around you. People have been using their imagination for ages to create masterpieces of music, art, machinery, and anything you can think of.
We all have this ability hidden within us. Some people find their way to it very easily. Others take a bit longer. It may feel like your journey’s come to an abrupt end when you find yourself stuck in a rut. It may seem to you that the same things keep happening over and over again, and you have no idea how to break out of the cycle.
It’s important to realize that this is just a state of mind, nothing more. Since it’s your mind we’re talking about, you hold the key to unlocking your creativity. You can train your mind to find inspiration in the smallest thing and put yourself into a creative state of being. How can you do that?
You don’t need to determine exactly how you’re feeling…you already know that. You feel as though something has just sucked the creative energy right out of you. The first step is visualizing your emotions. Attribute a color to your feelings. You know the term ‘feeling blue’? Well, imagine that block is a blue wall keeping you from creating.
Now you’re going to deconstruct that wall. It doesn’t matter how you do it. Imagine yourself with a hammer and pound away, or pry out one brick at a time. All that matters is at the end of this process there should be a pile of rubble at your feet. That rubble represents everything that has been keeping your creative process down.
Don’t underestimate the power of visualization. Often, it is the only method you have of making your feelings into a tangible entity, and that’s exactly what you want to do. Most people find that it is much easier to control something if it can be ‘seen’. By visualizing the emotions that have been keeping you from creating, you are making them more ‘real’.
Creativity is just one thing that your brain is capable of. Like most abilities, it is something that you can train if you know the strategies to use. Embracing different perspectives, and using your other mental skills, is a powerful way to enhance your creativity. Practice does make perfect and you can become more creative through flexing your mental muscles.
All you need to do is learn to use your mind in ways that you perhaps hadn’t thought of before. Keep at it and don’t allow yourself to get discouraged. Once you can do that, you can unlock truly realize your creative potential.
