How To Be Successful In Life – Training Your Mind
Program your Subconscious and Live Better
Do you want to be successful? Do you want to enjoy life while you accomplish all your goals? Often it is your subconscious mind, which is preventing you from doing those things. That’s because it’s taking up all your time and energy in focusing on problems and setbacks and it’s forgotten about your aims and the ways to get around obstacles.
You know this, because if you can stop worrying and panicking for even a few seconds and you can say what a problem is, suddenly, a possible solution to the problem comes to you. What you’ve got to do is program your subconscious mind to focus more effectively on solving problems when they arise.
You can do it. The conscious mind you control is the boss of your subconscious mind. Get your subconscious on a training program today!
The link between the conscious and unconscious mind
Your subconscious mind only knows what your conscious mind tells it. It is bombarded every day with millions of thoughts, ideas and feelings then it sets to work on processing them. Your subconscious mind can therefore be easily swayed and distracted by what the conscious mind tells it.
Tell it that there are many insurmountable problems between you and your aim and that you’ll never get what you want because haven’t you failed before – then that’s what the subconscious mind will think – and it’s what you will feel. Feeling like that, you won’t even look for possible solutions and ways forward – not seriously, anyway – and so you won’t find them. That way, of course you fail – and you become a self-fulfilling prophecy of failure.
Your conscious mind might be the boss of your subconscious mind, but YOU are the overall boss of both of them. Act like it. Take control of what you are consciously thinking and turn it around to something positive and useful to you before your conscious mind dumps the thought on the sub-conscious mind as a no-hoper.
It’s not your subconscious mind’s fault. It doesn’t know any better. But YOU do – right?
OK – so how do you take control of what your subconscious mind thinks?
Everything you do, say and believe is picked up by your subconscious mind. Using your mind to simply record and process information wastes a lot of its potential power. You only get one chance at this life, so why not use your mind’s power to its full potential?
Sifting out the negative, unhelpful things from that won’t happen overnight – but you CAN do it. It just takes time and practice. Here’s how you can train your subconscious mind to propel you towards success and happiness – whatever your goal.
Step 1 – Set goals
You wouldn’t set off in a car to cross a foreign country without maps, satellite navigation or at least some guidebooks, would you? Well your future is a foreign country, waiting to be explored. But it’s best done with the safety of having some plans and route maps. That way, you can relax a little and enjoy the journey because you won’t be scared you’ll get lost or forget your destination.
Step 2 – Creative visualization
To understand how creative visualization works, you have to understand that the subconscious mind does not know what is reality and what is fiction. That’s why you can wake up confused after vivid dreams, not knowing if it happened or not; or you can forget to pick up a certain everyday item from the shops simply because you’ve remembered doing it time and time again so you’ve imagined yourself doing it this time too.
That little weakness in the subconscious mind could be your biggest strength in programming your subconscious in order to live better.
You’ll find a lot of books and Internet sites on the power of creative visualization, but unfortunately, most of them are naive. They tell you how to do it at a basic level, but they conveniently leave out the fact that in order to maximize the benefits of creative visualization, you can’t do it in five minutes in your spare time and then forget about it. If you do, your subconscious mind will still be bombarded with all the negative thoughts and feelings you still hold on to as well.
So, you have to be strong and each time you feel a negative thought creep into your head, be aware of it. Think about it constructively and immediately come up with a solution for the problem it has posed for you. That way, the solution gets filed away into your subconscious mind right away along with the problem – a neat little filing system!
Step 3 – Enjoy your successes
Take the time to realize when you’ve done something good or you’ve achieved one of your targets. What you’re doing there is getting your conscious mind to send a message to your subconscious mind which says ‘See? I told you that you could do it – and now you have!”
That way, you’re re-programming your unconscious mind to expect success not failure. You’ll feel happier and more optimist as you’ll believe in yourself and your abilities and you’ll have a better mental filing system. That means you can benefit even more from past experiences and you’ll see your achievements mount.
To your success
