How To Be Successful In Life – Trust Yourself
Get Motivated to Develop Yourself as a Person
Being motivated is all about knowing what you want and believing you can achieve it. You need motivation to keep on working towards self-improvement. However, it is very difficult to have motivation if you haven’t got a clear purpose because you won’t see results for your efforts. You won’t see how your actions are moving you along towards something you actively want.
Also, if you aren’t motivated to want something then you will never work hard at it, whether that’s self-improvement in some area or some other aim. The effect is the same:
Lack of motivation = lack of concentrated effort = lack of real results
So, you can see that motivation is a great thing to have – then developing yourself as a person becomes so much easier to achieve. Without motivation – without wanting to change and achieve something for yourself – you’ll probably never even bother to make the first moves towards achieving it.
The very first thing you need to do is to start to trust in yourself. Try to soak up praise and confidence from those around you. If they say you can do something, then don’t automatically thing they’re wrong. If you’ve *really* got a negative self-image you may try hypnotherapy or some such treatment, but always go to someone properly qualified and remember this can be an expensive option.
Try to gain some self-confidence in other ways, looking back at past achievements or thinking of characteristic you have of which you are proud. Ask a close and trusted relative or friend.
Once you have some self-belief – make sure you have plans, so yourself is well-founded. That way you’ll know you can achieve because you know a series of manageable steps you can take to enable yourself to achieve. You’ll be motivated because you know what you need to do next – *now*, even. Why put it off until tomorrow? If you’re motivated, you wn’t want to delay a moment longer.
Now you’re ready to set some goals for yourself. Things *you* want to achieve.
You need goals to show you were you’re heading. Knowing what you want is a huge part of getting what you want. That way you’re spurred on towards a particular goal instead of fishing around endlessly trying to find something you want to do and not succeeding at anything.
Try to think what you want motivation for. Have a real, concrete aim in mind. Picture yourself having achieved it. How much do you want it? How will your life be different if you achieve it? Asking yourself these questions will help you to see the benefits of being motivated and will help you to develop as a person. You’ll certainly become more self-aware.
As your goals become more real and achievable, you can start to feel even more motivated. This in turn makes you work harder towards a goal because you know you can do it if you try – and thus you not only develop self-awareness if what you want and what you can achieve – you develop more skills too. Motivation is great for developing a person that way!
