Ambushed into an interview…
I decided I wouldn’t do any interviews until after a lot of people had read my books.
This was because I knew my life would be a lot easier once I had hundreds of people saying how good they were…
However, my ‘friend’ Simon Little said to me… “When we chat next week can we do a ‘trial’ interview?”
Well that’s what he said and what I heard… but what he meant was can I do a full in-depth interview with you about your new books… and the answer would have been, “No, not yet!”
Well unwittingly I thought two friends were having a chat and a trial interview. Then after a few minutes it dawned on me that this wasn’t a test interview for Simon to sharpen his interview technique. Instead I was his first victim for a new site he’s doing on interviewing specialists.
Anyway, after realising I’d been done in by a friend I carried on.
So you can now listen to an interview I never intended to have…
You’ll be able to tell it wasn’t pre-planed because the sound quality in places isn’t good and I had to get up and tell my wife to be quiet as I was being interviewed… Then my daughter disturbed us too…
So it’s a little raw, but the feedback I’ve had on it so far has been that the content is great.
Simon quizzed me on the following: –
- How did I end up going bankrupt and how did I feel about it
- How did I get back into the right mindset
- Why did I write these books
- Why I could justify saying that my books worked whereas others in the personal development / self-help world don’t work
- Why I can make a success of things and why others can’t
- What my targets are with these books
- Why do people lack inspiration and why do they associate pain and work with their goals
- How I get people to actually take action then and disprove the 80:20 rule so more people succeed
